General Rules

  1. If carts are allowed on the fairways, we will play the ball down.  However, free relief is allowed from bare spots in the fairway.  You may lift, clean, and drop within one club-length of the nearest point of complete relief, no closer to the hole.
  2. If the golf course is cart path only, Model Local Rule E-3, Preferred Lies, is in effect in the General Area.  Lift, clean, and place in a one club-length relief area no closer to the hole.
  3. If your ball is in a footprint in a bunker, you may lift, clean, and drop in the bunker no closer to the hole.
  4. Model Local Rule E-5 is in effect for lost or OB balls.  The relief area is from the reference point (where the ball is lost, or crossed the OB line) up to 2 club-lengths in the fairway, no closer to the hole.
  5. Model Local Rule F-5, Immovable Obstructions Close to Putting Greens, is in effect.  The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b if an immovable obstruction is on the line of play, and is on or within two club-lengths of the putting green, and within two club-lengths of the ball.
  6. The construction dirt area to the left of #3 and #7 is ground under repair.  One club-length free relief, from the nearest point of complete relief, no closer to hole from where the ball crossed into the abnormal course condition.  If you are sure it's in there, you don't have to find the ball.
